This is a comprehensive course designed to provide healthcare professionals with the knowledge and skills necessary to perform and re-check electrocardiograms accurately. This course equips the participants with knowledge in heart physiology, characteristics of a normal ECG tracing and skills in ECG machine operation. The course is a mixture of theory and skills practice with ECG machines and simulators. It focuses on the principles of ECG, practical operation, empowering participants to competently operate the ECG machine and make informed decisions when escalating urgent electrocardiograms to their specialists.

Course Objectives

By the end of the course, the learners will be able to:

  1. Describe the anatomy and physiology of the heart
  2. Describe the normal ECG tracing
  3. Perform basic ECG machine operation and lead corrections
  4. Identify ECG tracings that require urgent escalation
