WSQ Higher Certificate in Healthcare (Community Care) - Ren Ci Hospital is a programme that provides the aspiring community care worker with a mix of cross-functional nursing and basic therapy skills and knowledge to operate the community health setting. The curriculum follows a modular framework consisting of seven WSQ modules and six non-WSQ modules that provide fundamental knowledge and broad-based competencies to perform the functional roles of a community care associate in the community sector.
This course is customised to the sector's long-term training needs and operating context. The skills covered are cross-functional, varying from delivering personal care to nursing and therapy skills, as these are the skill sets required by the community care worker. The evolving trend in the community care sector is that beyond supporting care needs, the worker will need to assist in basic nursing care functions with the long-term aim of rehabilitation and functional recovery.
