Para-counselling is a vital skill set for those looking to support individuals in emotional distress or at risk of self-harm and suicide.
By equipping healthcare and community workers with para-counselling skills, we enhance their ability to respond promptly and effectively to mental health emergencies. This proactive approach can significantly reduce the incidence of suicide and self-harm in various settings. To reinforce learning, it is essential to regularly revisit key concepts and frameworks, engage in role-play scenarios, and participate in self-reflection activities. Continuous practice, feedback, and professional development are encouraged to ensure retention and application of the learned techniques.
