This course introduces participants to therapeutic horticulture, focusing on the physical, psychological, and social benefits of engaging with plants and nature-based activities, with a view of engaging seniors for their wellbeing. The course will cover practical horticultural skills, an understanding of basic techniques for creating therapeutic horticulture environments. It will also explore the ways in which gardening can promote mental health and well-being for seniors. The course cumulates to a summative planning practice for a therapeutic horticulture activity.
