Course Duration

  • Classroom: 24 hrs (3 days)
  • Assessment: 2 hrs (0.5 day)

Course Objectives

On completion of this course, learner will have the knowledge and application skills in handling security incidents and services and be able to apply them to the workplace.

Course Content

The training hour of this course is 26 hours. It consists of the following Knowledge and Abilities:

  • Operating environments
  • Relevant legal and law institutional knowledge
  • Organisational procedures for incident responses
  • Principles of fire management
  • Types of incident scenarios during events and security operations
  • Types of Emergency Plans relevant to building evacuation
  • Methods of incident notification
  • Methods and procedures for handling crime-related incidents
  • Types of relevant stakeholders
  • Types of mobile interface and technology
  • Handle crowd during incidents
  • Inform relevant authorities about incidents
  • Participate in the conduct of response drills in accordance with procedures
  • Handle outbreak of fire in accordance with organisational procedures
  • Take preventive action to minimise risk of injury to persons posed by damaged facilities or equipment
  • Immediately deal with information received from complainant that criminal offence has been/is being committed in accordance with organisational procedures
  • Handle incidents of alleged offences in accordance with organisational procedures
  • Handle incident of specific bomb threats with location of suspicious item known in accordance with organisational procedures
  • Respond & report incidents in accordance to the appropriate procedures with the use of mobile devices
  • Make preparations including reference to relevant documents, records of incidents and seek any clarifications or doubts from appropriate person

Minimum Entry Requirement

Qualification:

  • The minimum entry educational qualification for Auxiliary Police Officers and APO (Enforcement) below the rank of Auxiliary Police Inspector shall be 3 GCE ‘N” Level credits, 3 SPM Credits, NITEC or their equivalent.
  • The minimum entry educational qualification for Security Officer shall be 3 GCE ‘N” Level credits, 3 SPM Credits, NITEC or their equivalent and have completed the Basic Licensing Unit.

Nationality:

Singapore Citizens, Malaysian Citizens who are Singapore Permanent Residents or Malaysian holders of Work Permits or Employment Passes.

Physical and Medical Requirement:

  • Certified by a medical doctor to be physically fit for work
  • Not be colour-blind or hearing impaired

Entry Requirements:

  • Be able to read, write and speak English at WPL Level 4
  • Be able to manipulate numbers at WPN Level 4
  • Be able to act in a professional manner

Course Fee

  • SGD 370.09 before GST
