Description

This course aims to equip learners on how to perform basic CPR and to operate the AED in an emergency situation.

Course Objectives

At the end of the session, participants will have knowledge & skills on the following:

  1. Introduction on National Statistics
  2. Anatomy and Physiology of the heart, lungs and circulation
  3. Risk factors for heart attack
  4. What happen in a cardiac arrest
  5. The Chain of Survival
  6. Demonstrate CPR
  7. Importance of Defibrillation
  8. Demonstrate AED
  9. Post Incident Report

Who Should Attend:

Support Care Staff, Allied Health Professional, Enrolled Nurse, Registered Nurse, Advanced Practice Nurse, Corporate Services Staff, Ancillary Care Staff

With reference to the Singapore Resuscitation & First Aid Council (SRFAC) advisory:

  1. For Life Support courses (BCLS+AED, CPR+AED, ACLS, LSCN, etc) and First Aid courses (SFA, CFA), class size will be capped at 16 learners with at least 1m spacing between individuals. For practical training involving CPR and AEDs, up to 4 learners may be placed together in a group, with no intermingling between groups and at least 2m spacing between groups (demarcated by physical partition such as moveable whiteboard, screens, etc)
  2. Practical training ratio for CPR and AED related training for all courses will remain at 1 instructor to at least 1 manikin and up to 4 learners within the group. (Trainer to trainee ratio of 1:4)

Additional Information:

  • Specific training dates will be assigned to each organisation to minimise cross contamination across different organisations. We will need a minimum of 8pax to commence a class.
