Clinical Preceptorship (NNA Accredited) – 2-Day Course Overview

This two (2) -day NNA-accredited course is designed to equip nurses with the essential skills and knowledge to become effective clinical preceptors.

Day 1: Foundations of Clinical Preceptorship

Participants will explore the key roles and responsibilities of a clinical preceptor, with a focus on applying adult learning principles in clinical education. The day includes interactive facilitation sessions on effective supervision, supportive communication, and delivering constructive feedback. Participants will also engage with e-learning materials. The day concludes with a session on giving and receiving feedback.

Day 2: Professional Practice and Assessment

The second day emphasizes professionalism in clinical practice, strategies for conflict resolution, stress and time management using SMART goals, and evaluating the clinical learning environment. The day wraps up with a practical session and a written MCQ assessment.

Post-Course Requirements

As part of course requirements, participants will be given up to a month to:

• Submit a reflective journal using Gibbs' reflective model
• Complete a clinical preceptorship skill competency checklist

By the end of this course, participants will be able to:
