Description

The objective of these courses is to help train and inspire Community Care professionals to plan better activities for Seniors that specifically address certain concerns and enhanced engagement.

Activities Planning and Implementation for Day Care and Nursing Homes has three variations: Cognitive Activities, Psychosocial Activities and Community Reintegration, all of which will be integrated into the course to empower the facilitators to better engage the Seniors in the various activities.

Course Objectives

  • Understand the therapeutic value of activities (Cognitive, Psychosocial and Community Reintegration)
  • Understand person-centred principles in the selection of activities.
  • To develop a holistic and therapeutic activity plan.
  • Understand and perform activity analysis and gradation.
  • Implementation and documentation for group activities.

Training Methodology

Lecture, group activities and discussions.

Day 1

  • Understand the value of engaging in meaningful activities
  • Understand the therapeutic value of group activities
  • Understand the different domains of cognition, Psychosocial and Community Reintegration
  • Understand the principles of person-centred care

Day 2

  • Develop a holistic and therapeutic activity plan psychosocial, cognitive and community reintegration.
  • Understand and perform activity analysis and gradation.

Day 3

  • Implementation and documentation for group activities

Day 4

  • Co-develop a resource Kit that contains a range of ready to implement activities
  • Assessment
